I'm interested to get feedback on what tools people use to monitor and analyze SQL Server performance. I'm particularly interested in tools that you use day to day to monitor current health as well as to proactively looking at systems capacity. I'm also keen to know what tools you've found to be helpful in interpreting the data, SQL Server has lots of built in ways to get information and I already feel pretty comfortable with using some of that but I'm looking to find a single tool that will automate much of the manual work involved in using that low level information. Two specific tools I'm looking for feedback on (but I'm interested in whatever tools you'd be kind enough to comment on):1. Microsoft Systems Center 2007 - I already have this one available to me, so I'd like to hear from people who are using it. Does it deal with SQL Server specifics and get down to the level of query statistics, monitoring and analysis or is it just collecting data?2. Confio Ignite - I've read a bit about it and I like what I've seen, are you using it and does it deliver? Thanks! |
