Hi There,

Please forgive my ignorance in this particular arena, but I've always used the GUI studio interface to SQL, and I'm no expert in the reporting services arena.....

However I have a user who's having an issue that I can't seem to get round and I was wondering of any of you had had the same problem.

Problem is that while he is working as an Admin login he keeps checking the "Remember Password" checkbox and then he can't login as a user because as he opens the URL it just logs him straight in.

We've tried deleting stored passwords in Internet Explorer & disabling the "usernames & passwords" boxes in the Auto Complete settings but I'm guessing it doesn't store it there because the symptom still remains. Does it store it in a cookie?

We currently manage to get round it by changing the Admin password, therefore killing whatever is storing the password, but this is becoming an Admin nightmare to keep track of them...... I don't really want to flush his entire IE cache for this but it is causing a bit of pain while he's testing......

Any suggestions welcome - thanks...

(Of course I'm looking for one that doesn't include "Don't check the "Remember Password" box, as the emphasis is placed on the word above that is "USER")

Interesting, I tried this out here and on my server it prompts you for a username and password when you log in, but when you click "Save Password", exit out, and try again, it still prompts you for the username and password next time even though it fills it in with what I used last.

I tried working out how to remove it - Options/General/Delete/Passwords and Forms and Cookies. That didn't work. I tried blocking cookies to that web site. That didn't work.

I have the site added to my Trusted Sites list with a custom security level. There's a setting in there for "User Authentication", I had it set to Anonymous (so it would always fail, and prompt me for the password), try that or try setting it to Prompt For Username And Password. There's also an option further up for "Userdata Persistence", I had it set to Enable but you might want to try changing to something else.

Excellent Stuff Cody - thanks for the reply!!

I set it to "Prompt for UN & PW" and it worked - you have no idea how many hourly phone calls you have just saved me!

Many many thanks

Rgds
