Hello Everyone,

I am new with SQL profiler.
I want to know, once we run the trace which are the most important columns in the trace. Means what to analyse in trace..
What developer or administrator exactly analyse in trace..

Thanks in advance

Chetan

I look for Textdata,Duration,CPU usage and who ran it and.......
You can use events, columns and filters to analyze your slow running queries, locking issues and etc.check books online for details.

That largely depends on what you're running profiler for. Are you having a performance issue or just monitoring to see what your system is doing?

sodeep's post then will help you with the first 3. Check out deadlock graphs (2005 and above) for your deadlock issues. They're extremely helpful.

You don't need to run SQL profiler if you are looking for 10 worst performing queries.
