Reporting Services must be able to connect to a SQL Server instance, but cannot do so at this time. Verify that you provided Setup with the correct SQL Server instance name, and make sure that the SQL Server service is running. BobZ did you ever figure this out?I am having the same problem, except I have uninstalled a second named instance that is no longer needed and now I get a similar error when I try and connect to the default instance. I figured that the setup (or me) had cocked something up, so uninstalled SQL 2005. The when I tried to reinstall SQL 2005 I got the same error. Fortunately I had a disk image to restore from so all was not lost, but I still have a second instance that I need to uninstall. The only thing that I can figure is that after I installed SQL 2005 windows updated it to SP3 via the windows update service, the original setup files had no SPs with them, so I'm guessing that during the update to SP3 some system files were changed that is causing a conflict with the orginal setup files.I've been pulling my hair out over this, so if you found a solution please please let me know.ThanksChris |
