Something really simple, just trying to do in a hurry and both articles I read seem to not work . maybe its for mysql what I read..

I'm just trying to alter a column to increase its size.. any help appreciated.. I'm trying below

ALTER TABLE tblMessage
ALTER Message [varchar](2500) NULL

Alter Table mytable
Alter column mycolumn varchar(5000)

u missed out column keyword from 2 line.
