| Hi,I am trying to teach myself a bit about SQL and hopefully get around to taking the MS exams, but I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle. I was give a copy of SQL Server 2005 which I tried to install on a machine with Vista Home Premium. But I got a couple of warning message during the setup, the main one being about IIS. I checked that I had IIS installed and from what I have been able to work out version 7 is installed but without all the features such as windows authentication. After spending a couple of days scouring the net I am completely puzzled. Can someone answer a simple question (no make that a couple questions).1 - Can Enterprise Edition be installed on Vista. Some things I have read have said that it can only be installed on Vista Ultimate, others say that it cannot be installed on any version of vista.2 - Can any version of SQL Server be installed on Vista. Yet again I have read contradictory statements regarding this, some say yes some say no. Some say that Developer version can be installed, is this true?3 - Is the Developer Edition the same as Enterprise? This is something else that some people have said.Any help would be appreciated. |
