| Hi,I have SQL server 2005 as part of the instilation to use ACT 2007. Unfortunatley when I tried to install it on my laptop it did not instal correctly & now I can not remove it to re instal it!I have tried removing it by the normal means but bits of it must still be there as upon start up I get the following message:"Your SQL Server instillation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (error getting instance id from name) please uninstall then re run setup to correct this problem."Is there a simple idiots guide to removing SQL Server 2005 manualy? All the bestBill |

On my laptop I would try a system restore:Through the All Programs menu:1. Click Start. 2. Point to All Programs. 3. Point to Accessories. 4. Point to System Tools. 5. Click System Restore. 6. Follow the instructions on the wizard. No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

| HiI think in ACT 2007, they might have used SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. You need not worry about it too much, What you can do is go to the services and then stop the service and disable the service. That will stop the SQL Server running on the system.Ratan KalwaSQL Server Professionals User Grouphttp://www.revalsys.com |

As you can read in the wizard it says no data files / only program file will be deleted. But I would save my data if possible before restoring the system to an older point.I have used it more than once but never with SQL Server and ACT.GreetingsWebfred No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |
