I am unable to install the SQL Server 2000 properly on my laptop.
Only clients components get installed.
config. of my laptop is:-2GB Ram, 160 Gb hard disk, 1.6 GHz Processor-Core-2-DUO with Windows VISTA, then also the setup says that the OS is not compatible for server components.....
Also tried the same on XP but wasn't successful.
It doesn't even connects to the server on the internet.....
How to install the Server components also???????

I think 1st you need to check on which paltform SQL Server 2000 is supported, have you applied the required Service packs?
Look into readme/isntall guide of SQL Server 2000

If you are new to Microsoft SQL Server, you should try to instal latest version Microsoft SQL Server which is 2008.
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express is free of charge and can be installed on Vista.
