Hello,

I would like to implement a Document Tracking System, the functionality is almost the same as a lending library, but do not have a due date. Could anyone give me some tips.

Your question is quite broad and impossible to answer in a simple manner.
What you need to do, is to write down all your business rules and then design your table according to that.
Here is a start http://www.datamodel.org/NormalizationRules.html

N 56°04'39.26"
E 12°55'05.63"
