Hello all,

I need to know what are the options in SQL DB for Backup and Recovery.
Specifically,
If I have data from January to December,

Can we backup Data from January to may and only leave June to December data in DB? ( purely on disk space logic and for speeding processing of data)

Can we then re attach data from March to April on to existing DB ?

I am new to the world of DBs. Please help me....

Regards,
Nithin

backup means to backup the whole database without deciding which records to choose.
backup leaves ALL data in your database - there is no delete or something else.
Your word is archiv to search, not backup.
