I want to use the database mail and I have a question about this.We use Microsoft exchange server in our company. Must I thereforehave outlook installed before I want to use database mail ?And how is the configuration done for an exchange server because the standard configuration is setup for SMTP.thx in advance,Kurt |

Database Mail in SQL 2005 does not require Outlook to be installed on the SQL Server. You would only need to configure Outlook if you had to process incoming emails from other sources. |
