Hello All,I just starting working for this organization as a DBA and everything is going perfect, actually too perfect! My question is what should I check for on my SQL Server 2005 environment to alert me of any hidden problems that can occur later... Meaning what should I check for on a day to day operation (normal routine checks)? Please advice. Thanks. |

Congrats on getting a DBA position. The main thing is just going through the Window and SQL logs. You can find articles on Google about what errors to pay attention to or even to setup alerts for. There are other task you may do but it would be dependent on your environment and database configurations.I would suggest you search Google on that subject to get you started. I have found this book to be very useful: "Administrator's Guide to SQL Server 2005" by Buck Woody.w s melton |
