Hi !

I have a database with many tables and I need to perform a search on 5 tables. This tables contain news, docs, info about different things, contact info. The idea is that I have to list the results based on the hits (the accuracy of the search) and not grouped by news/docs/info.

Can you help me ? Thanks.

I'd like to see some more requirements and sample search. You may look at Full Text Search as an option. It sounds like you need to match a hit against how many words match, or do you have predetermined match criteria?

Something to get you started

You can also use INFORMATION_SCHEMA Views to retrieve information about the 5 tables you're interested in and only the columns of the table that interest you.
Then use that to write some dynamic sql to search those columns.
