Hi, I have a SQL server 2005 installed in my PC.Now I have got the setup of SQL server 2008.Can anyone tell me how to install the SQL server 2008 without uninstalling 2005.Thank you.scv |

Well...the install dialog window shows an option to upgrade an existing 2000 or 2005 instance. Should be pretty straight forward...- Lumbago |

Ok, I'm a little confused. Do you want to upgrade an existing 2005 installation or do you want to have BOTH 2005 and 2008 running in paralell? If you want to have both the you will need to create a new instance and give it a name like "SQL2008" or something...if you want to upgrade the installer will find your existing 2005 and this should be the instance you should choose.- Lumbago |
