hallo,

I have a table which I try to change a field from nvarchar(50) to nvarchar(20). The table is built of 118,000,000 records. When it is in the process of saving a pop up appears saying;

'o_pat1'table
- Unable to modify table.
Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

Please could anyone help me how I can remove the timeout.

Checked;

Tool - Option - Query Exceution - Exceution time-out - 0 seconds.

Run the ALTER table command in QA.
For long-running operations it's better to use a script.
