I'm new and inexperienced with SQL admin and I am attempting to manage an SQL Server 2003 database that has been growing. I have been deleting old data, but that actually makes the database sizes go up, not down, so I am a little confused. My MDF is currently 10GB and the LDF is just over 60GB. Two weeks ago they were 8GB and 50GB. I am running out of room on the disk that the database files are on and am looking at my options. I could add more storage, but I would rather get it down to a manageable size. I'm sure there is room to shrink this beast in size, but I'm clueless where to start.Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!-Bill |

Take a look through this article - http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/64582/p.s. there is no SQL server 2003. The versions for SQL are SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
