I have written a report in Reporting Services that shows the expenses as a variant amount against the Budget_amount, by product category. This variance amount is shown as a bar chart. Now they ask, can I show at the bar, instead, the budget_Amount (in our co. every product cat. is given a monthly budget_amount per customer), show this budget amount on the report, and then, show the variance, that is, what they spent over or under, sort of shaded inside the budget_amount. So if the budget_amount is $500, and they spent $600, show 500 on the bar and 100 in red within this 500. I need to check how to do it, a bar inside another barI dont think reporting services allows it. Can this be done in SSRS 2008? |

Actually it sounds like a stacked bar chart would work. Problem is that you can only have one axis measure scale so if you have a budget of $500 and they spent $505, the $5 would be almost invisible. May be better off showing budget amount and spent amount with normal bar chart.Another issue is what happens if budget $500 and they spend $495? in stacked the logic would be harder. With my second example, piece of proverbial cake.JohnIt's a small world (but I wouldn't want to paint it) |
