We have 2 sql servers connected via LAN with SQL Server 2000databases . 1 server is at our Admin-Block and another at Plant. I want such a mechanism so that our data stored in Plant's Server could be copied on Office's Server automaticaly either simultenously or after a short span of time, to escape any failure of plant's server. I heard about the replication but it is said that it needs change in front-end's coding. I tried to have backup of Plant's server database backup in our office's PC but SQL SERVER 2000 do not permit remote drive for backup.Pls.suggest me! |

SQL server 2000 DOES permit backups to a remote server. It's not recommended due to network hiccups (do a Google search) but can be accomplished using a UNC path that is shared and that the account running SQL Server agent has rights to.Terry-- Procrastinate now! |
