| Hi there.. I'd just like to know. What are the risks or impact of doing a backup of the transaction log at the same time as doing a backup of the database?Will this impact the speed of the backup or vise versa? |

| SQL 2000 they cannot run at the same time, one would be blocked by the other. SQL 2005 and above, no major risk. Only thing to consider is whether that log backup would be required if restoring with that full backup.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
