not real familiar with SQL on a windows server... started a new position and the previous person had used a trial version of SQL server 2000 express loaded - its run out and we are down right now... some say it was a cracked version, not sure myself, but wondering how can I get a good copy of sql 2000 here - cant upgrade cause of some other programs that will not run on newer versions... is there a way to temp extend the trail version for now and plan what we get to make sure its right, or does anyone know what I should get to upgrade to a lagit copy of sql 2000 on this machine? remember, I am new to this, and it seems like its more than just pop in a CD and run the update.... I have messed with sql on a freebsd system back a few years ago, but not real versed on the sql settings, want to keep everything that was working and get it lagit for now, then worry about upgrades etc...

There is no such thing as SQL Server 2000 Express. There's MSDE 2000, but it's would have a trial period since it's free.

Please reverify what version and edition you are/were using.

You'll need to contact Microsoft directly (or a reseller) as your company is going to need to purchase licenses.

I don't have a clue what number to call as we have a contract departments here that handles everything for us. I'd try microsoft.com/sql for starters.

You are going to need the media to proceed.
