Hello,

I'm running vista ultimate with SQL ultimate 2005 installed. After the install i tried creating a (local) database. I can't create one using windows auth or SQL auth. I have attached an link to an image of the error. www.righthereinteractive.com/clients/moss/sql-error.jpg

I have been using SQL and CF for years but i have never had to set up a fresh install on a development machine. Any hep is greatly appreciated.

You must have installed the wrong version cause there isn't such version existsed

What is the edition of SQL Server you have installed ?

Is the server running ? You can check this via the Admin Tools - Services screen

Hi thank you for getting back to me. I installed SQL Server 2005, running IIS with it.

I'm not seeing an instance of SQL Server running in my services.

After Searching google "Starting SQL Server 2005" it tells me to click on the "named instance" and click start. I don't have any named instances
