why i am concatinate is i want to create a flat file . this part of code since in flat each record will be 32,000 bytes but i am getting only 8000 bytes or 4000 . i am wondering why is this ?

But to write the data in a flat file there is no need to have only one column.
Each line in your statement builds a column with a fixed length and if the columns get out into a flat file they will be glued together.

And when you say: getting only 8000 or 4000 bytes then where do see this output?
In query window or already in your flat file?

Can you explain a bit more what you are doing?
