Hi,
Is this possible to configure the execution of a Stored Procedure with low priority. I mean, this SP updates the info for a high volume data but it doesn't matter if takes long time...

Thanks in advance.

The Resource Governor will do the trick

Unfortunately you'll need to have the Enterprise edition so if you don't, I'd think you're out of luck.

It also depends on the type of procedure, what it does.
You can probably do the things in smaller batches.

For example if you want to update a column, you can do that for 1000 records at a time (repeat until all done), instead of updating all records at once.

Thank you!
1.-Yes, that works only in enterprise edition.
2.-I am doing this in small batches.

Put a WAITFOR for a second, or so, between batches?
