Hello Gurus,
I have got a Job after my Grad and I am trained on Cognos (Data warehousing BI). I have completed my first project .
My Team Lead has suggested our batch to get strong in SQL. I have already come to know that DW needs Strong basics in SQL. I do not know where to begin to become stronger.

I asked my TL to give me areas where I should become Strong and also resources. He told me Basic Select Statements,Aggregate functions,Group by,Joins,Date Conversion Functions.

Can I learn all of these on the sample databases like Northwind,Pubs etc.
Please guide me. I would be grateful to you.

What shall we say?
You can read the posted problems here and learn very much by reading the given solutions...

No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

Learn all the DML , and apply to as many problem sets as you can. Also, worthwhile to learn some set theory - as it applies to databases

you can learn SQL on even smaller database as it's Pubs and Northwind. but since your position as a DW, i suggest you start using real data in real database.

pick a book (programming with SQL or something like that) and you are on the highway.
