Hey all,

I have fairly basic t-sql knowledge but my job has asked me to increase my knowledge. They aren't willing to pay for an instructor led course right now so I'm pretty much going to have to do this myself. Can anyone recommend a good book(one that comes with some interactive content dvd's or something like that would be a plus)to self teach?

Any help is appreciated.

I just found a frequently asked questions post that has some recommended books but the newest seems to be from 2003. Anyone know anything newer or should those still apply?

Fundamentals. It's heady, but Date's SQL And Relational Theory goes a long way.

Apart from a book, you can scour YouTube for SQL tutorials. They should have loads of them. As for books, I've had good luck with the Wrox books "Beginning T-SQL with MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008" and "Beginning MS SQL Server 2008 Programming." Also check out online tutorials, there are no shortage of these, either.
