| My sql server name was Jay-QXSHHPA9UQ6.I used sp_dropserver 'Jay-QXSHHPA9UQ6' to remove the server nameThen i did sp_Addserver 'XP1', Local to rename the server.When i run Select @@ServerName it does state XP1, But when i fire up sql server managment studio and log into the database engine it still states Jay-QXSHHPA9UQ6. even though @@serverName states XP1.How come this happens. and how do i change the etire instace name.Thanks |

| In 2005, I had to stop and restart the service after dropping/adding the server name before everything appeared correctly.Terry-- -- Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege. |
