| Hi all,i am quit inexperience with sql but determin to do thing. i am trying to backup my transaction log files in SQL2000 through Enterprise Manager, but the "Transation Log" radio button is inactive. why is this so, and what should i do? |

| Check the recovery model for your database (right-click, Properties, Options). If it's in Simple recovery you cannot back up the transaction log, change it to full or bulk-logged. You'll then need to do a full database backup before you can do a log backup. |

| once you do this, you'll want to back up the transaction log at regular intervals, else it will grow out of control. |
