Hi,
I have created some indexes on 5 tables. The performance was faster. After a weeks time the query time was slower and then I rebuild the indexes and then the performance was faster.

So How often I need to do the rebuilding the indexes?

Thanks,
Sandesh

whenever you have mass data population better to rebuild indexes and update statistics

When it gets too slow?

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.

We rebuild indexes when the fragmentation is more than some threshold (can't remember what that is offhand, but you can obviously "tune" the threshold that you choose)
