| Hi All,It's been a while since I've been on SQLTeam so a big hello to all.Here is the situation:We are currently mirroring several servers databases to one mirror server.This server has the following IO subsystem:6 x 460gb SAS drives in a raid 5 on an Intel RAID Controller RS2BL080We currently averaging 850 writes per second to the subsystem with a peak of 5500 writes per second.Unfortunately this seems to be the limit of the system.My thoughts are to replace the 6 SAS drives with 6 SSD drives of similar size but vastly greater read\write times.Huge concern is the MTTF due to the excessive writes that occur on the sub system with SSD's.Has anyone experienced using SSD's for their mirror server?How long have the drives been running stable for and what kind of failure rate should I expect?ThanksDoug |
