| I've just taken over the role of SQL Server DBA for my organization. I've been asked to go over the list of Microsoft patches that will be installed on our SQL Server boxes to see if there are any issues. As of now, I'm going to Microsoft's site and reading up on the patches. But, they don't have any info on where there are any negative effects on SQL Server or other Microsoft products. The patches are being installed on test servers and I plan on running a few jobs to test for any issues.Does anyone know of any other resources I could check?Thanks,-jeff |

| I don't necessarily know that Microsoft is going to come out and state that there's an issue with a patch/hotfix, as these are supposed improvements. If you are having a particular issue, Google it. If not, don't worry about it (or put in a call to PSS!). Here is the best place to find out what you have on your server. And be aware, they (M$) are posting sp3 for SQL2K5! Long time coming...individual patches can be a real pain, great to have a rollup coming.....Thanks to all that voted!Database versions: http://www.sqlsecurity.com/FAQs/SQLServerVersionDatabase/tabid/63/Default.aspxTerry |
