Let's say you have an index on field2 in table1.
You would like to run a select query which does not use field2 as index. IS there a way to do this in sql.
p.s. This was a question that someone asked me?
Thanks

You can use an index hint to force a different index to be used. If you don't use an index hint though, you'll get whatever the query optimizer thinks is most efficient in your execution plan.
