Hi! What is the easiest and best way to copy my database file in SQL Server 2000? I have done it before, but would like to copy the database file to test some software on another server? Can I just connect my laptop and save the file and then take my laptop where the other server is located. Is it possible to burn this data to a CD?Thanks for any help!Scott |

You don't need a backup drive, just back it up to the local disk. Yes you can backup to a remote host, just use a UNC path in the TO DISK portion of the BACKUP DATABASE command.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |
