Is it possible to turn off hyper threading using sql?
I have checked sp_configure but it seems this does not have anythingto do with it.
Thanks

Hyperthreading set on or off in the computer's BIOS.
The best you can do within SQL is to configure the CPU affinity to use only one of the two virtual processors

arkiboys what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
because judging by your questions lately it looks like you want us to help you hack a server.

Hi,
What I am trying to accomplish is to make the task of the DBAs easier as follows:
Each time the DBAs build a new sql server 2005 machine, they have to go through a standard checklist on that server. The checklist contains many many checks...
i.e. version, spaces, DB checks, etc...
A few of these I have not been able to do but you guys on this site have been very helpful.
One of the few remaining check that I can not figure out is to ensure the hyperthreading is turned off.
I will continue searching google for this.
Thank you for your time...
