Hello all,I have just started studying/training myself on SQL 2005 Business Intelligence-Implementation & Maint, using the Microsoft Press Training Kit.I need to "install" IIS on my home PC that runs Vista. This is required for Reporting Services. I was able to locate the area in Control Panel where this component can be activated/installed. IIS has numerous sub components. I tried to install it by checking the top node. It ran for a long time, about 20 to 30 minutes, perhaps more. It finally returned an error indicating something like "some components could not be installed".Can you guys provide any suggestions. I already have SQL Server 2005 installed on my machine, two instances. One instance has Reporting services, Analysis Services and SSIS installed.I think I read in an old thread that someone had a similar problem an they uninstalled SQL Server, then installed IIS.Thanks for reading my post.Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. |

Which components can't be installed? How many components did you select and what are those? |

Which components can't be installed? How many components did you select and what are those?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Oddly enough, the error message did not indicate which components could not be installed. I clicked on the top level node that is labeled: "Internet Information Services". Directly below this node are the following: "FTP Publishing Service", "Web Management Tools" and "World Wide Web Services"; which in turn have further sub-nodes/services/etc.The text did not elaborate on anything specific, it merely indicated to "check" "IIS".Thanks for the reply.Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. |
