I am using SQL 2000 and have dropped a number of large tables from my database.
Is there any good practice i should adopt following the deletions?

(e.g. The *.mdf and *.log files do not appear to have changed size - should i do anything with them?)

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Leave as is, unless there is an urgent need to reclaim physical disk space.

Thanks Peso,
Cant argue with that - much of the literature i have read seems to agree with your point.
given i have plenty of disk space... i will leave alone.
Thanks! (again)

The backside with shrinking the files, are that later (when you need more space again) the files might get [more] fragmented.
