I have SQL Server 2000 standard edition. Database log file is started increasing very fast after i started doing snapshot replication. My Sqlserver didn't have any service packs, so I have updated service pack SQL2000-KB884525-SP4-x86-ENU.EXE in my sql server. When i run the following querySELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')I am getting8.00.194 RTM Standard EditionWhere can i see the service pack's updation? My data file size is 600 MB and log file size is 7GB. How to i reduce the size? Shrinking file is not working.Help Me. |

You should be able to get SP info with this? Did you restart services after installing?SELECT SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel')also you should backup your log frequently to control your log size.Did you try taking log backup and shrinking log file? |
