i have a server which is installed with sql 2005,now it has been restored with backupsets of sql 7.0, but the compatibility of few databases which was restored still remains as 70,
can i directly change the cmptlevel to 90 or are there any other steps i need to take care

Before you do that, you have to make sure your apps are not using any features supported in SQL 7.0 and not in SQL 2005.
