Good day everyone,

I was assigned to provide a list of Login accounts from SQL Server 2000 and 2005. currently, I am doing this on SQLServer2005 by opening the security folder and manually opening each accounts from the Login folder. but this method consume alot of time. and i have to provide this list from 18 DB Servers.

I once heard that information about the SQL login accounts are saved in the systems databases, but i dont know which system databases and tables houses the Login accounts.

if anyone has done this listing before. please give me some info to find the Login accounts. so i can provide a T-SQL that will return this columns.

Login Name, User Mapping DB, Server Role, DB Role

thanks guys.

thanks visakh16,
this query
select * from sys.syslogins where isntname=0
works. now i'll just filter the columns for my desired results.

this works for SQL Server 2005 but not on 2000
2000 do not have sys.syslogins table.

thanks.

Now i have heard a lot about it , but i havent done listings before.
Now it is like the system database and tables are the stuffs you create , and then you link the Login profile with it , it is like you have to create seperate directories for each.
