| We have a sql server 7.0 database that I have been asked to decommission. I have been asked to backup the database/data prior to shutdown.What is the best practice to do this?I have a good 7.0 db backup - but I am unsure if the backups are backward compatible. IE; If I am asked to restore this db backup will I be able to do it with Sql Server 2005 (Sql Serverr 20xx)?If not what is the best approach to backing this up. |

| Considering you have done Full backup, You can restore it in SQL 2000 and 2005. |
