People, I am new in the DBA area and I'de like to know what
kind of knowledge I will use more when working as DBA, what kind
of problems are the most common and etc. I am asking this 'coz i got a job as DBA. Of course I am mcts in SQL Server, but I havent worked as DBA before and I am scared. Please, if you have a word, Help me!

I do a lot of performance analysis. Get familiar with indexes, SQL Profiler, execution plans, and Performance Monitor.

Also get used to with Recovery models and Bacup/Recovery option.

Also check SQL Server log, SQL Agent jobs, Replication, etc.
Do you have alerts configured?
