Author  Topic  jrhoads Starting Member 1 Post Posted - 2009-01-14 : 17:18:09 I recently installed MacAfee and it really messed up my machine. After I un-installed MacAfee and got a refune, I noticed that my SQL Server 2005 Service didn't start. I un-installed SQL 2005 and re-installed it and when it gets to the installation of the Database Services it tries to start the service and it fails. I have been pulling my hair out as to why this happens. Here is the error I get in the Summary.txt file: Machine : XXXX-PC Product : Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Product Version : 9.00.1399.06 Install : Failed Log File : C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Files\SQLSetup0009_JEFF-PC_SQL.log Last Action : InstallFinalize Error String : The SQL Server service failed to start. For more information, see the SQL Server Books Online topics, "How to: View SQL Server 2005 Setup Log Files" and "Starting SQL Server Manually." The error is (1067) The process terminated unexpectedly. Error Number : 29503 If anyone has information on how tof ix this, it would be very much appreciated. I've been working this for about 2 weeks now with no success. Thanks in advance.
