sending database mail

I'm trying to send email via sql server 2005

it says Mail queued.
but I don't get the email - what could the issue be?

which mail are you using sqlmail or smtpmail?

thanks if I do sysmail_help_queue_sp @queue_type = 'Mail' ;
I get Could not find stored procedure 'sysmail_help_queue_sp'.

What do I have to do to get it working?

Execute under MSDB database.

Did you read the link properly? Have database Mail been started in Surface area config? Are you getting this when testing or in SQL job?
