Scenario
I have downloaded and installed an eval. copy of SQL2005 std. 64bit (expires in 80 days).
I installed it with the default instance and all is working well (I have several databases running).
I now want to install ACT Prem Web 2009, which reqires a named instance (ACT7) for it to work.

Questions ...
How do I create a new named instance, without destroying or affecting the existing configuration.
If this involves re-running the installation, will this have any effect on the time limitation of the original eval. installation.

Following a successful installation/resolution, I will be purchasing a bona-fida copy of the software (SQL2005).

Re-Rerun Setup one more time and specify name in Named instances.

It doesn't make sense for ACT to require a named instance. That should be irrelevant to the application.

I thought the same, but I did actually speak with Sage/ACT tech support and they confirmed that the named instance "ACT7" was a necessity.
