Hi all

could anyone please tell me what are the consequences if the server is restarted on a weekly basis inorder to flush out unwanted /temperory data in sql server 2005?is it feasible/recommended???

This is not needed and certainly isn't recommended.

The consequences are poor performance while the cache is reloaded and downtime while it restarts.

We reboot once a month only becauses Microsoft releases security patches monthly. We are required by our IT security department to get them applied just a few days after Microsoft releases them. If it weren't for this, we'd never reboot the server unless it absolutely needed it. At my last job, we would go months in between reboots.
