Hi,I noticed on my DB server a windows update for MSSQL SP3 has been pushed. The problem is I only have 400mb free on my partition for the C:I've deleted all the extra files that I could. My only option to make more space that I can see is to "compress unused files". I'm not sure about this option, I have never liked compression on drives period.Any thoughts on this ? Should I compress my unused windows files to make room for SP3 ? Any good benefits to SP3 to consider ?Any feedback appreciated! Thanks again,mike123 |

Hey Peso,The download is 337mb, but when I click details of the install it recommends 1900mb.Apparently I can free 3gb by compressing my old windows files.Thanks!mike123 |

Well, most files are overwritten so the 1900 mb are total size. But you have to account for the already installed 1840 mb for SQL Server with SP2.So sp3 is using some 60+ mb more. E 12°55'05.63"N 56°04'39.26" |

I tried installin SP3, but it failed due to lack of HD space. (It was a 377mb download, I had 420mb free)The problem is now I only have 40mb free diskspace on the C:, and I can't find out where to delete the temporary files that windows update downloaded. Anyone have any idea ? Any help appreciated, I don't want my system drive to fill up and crash the server. Thanks again,mike123 |
