Hello everyone. I'm looking forwad to learning about SQL by reading posts on this board. I've read many already and I know I've come to the right place.

To make a long story short, I'm an IT manager but my specialty is the infrastructure side. My knowledge of SQL is very limited. I have a customer that is asking me to do something I don't know how to do and I'm hoping to get some direction from the guru's on this board.

I am going to a client this weekend do do some work and they're asking me to export information from SQL to excel (or anything). This server used to reside in another office that has since closed and their only IT person quit. The server has been installed in their office and they are able to access it via some custom built application that they are looking to get away from. They would like me to export all the customer information in SQL to excel or a txt file.

All I know about the server is it has SQL 2005. I'm assuming it also has the client tools installed but she is not technical and I won't know until I see it. Is there an easy way to export data from SQL to another application to my client has the data to use?

Thanks.

Ha! Good point. We'll, I AM new to SQL so I'm 1/2 right. Thanks for the reply. I'll try to make sense of it and post any questions I have in a different thread.

Thanks.
