I am going to design a database to hold upto 200 GB data with a target to store approx 5 million image files.

What should be the precautionary measures, I must consider?
How can keep my DB in best state of performance?
Will such a huge size will really matter while retrieving records in future or IMAGE FILES will create any problem. ?

Thanking you in advance

You can take advantage of Table Partitioning (If Enterprise Edition).Have you done Capacity planning? I have never handled Image files in my database.
