Hi, sql server help file states that noise words/stop words are excluded from the contains search string. It happens when the whole string is enclosed in double quotes but not if each word is separated by "and".

Example:
select count(*) from messages where contains(*,'change and an and inventory')
returns 0 records.

select count(*) from messages where contains(*,'change and inventory')
does return records.

"an" is a stop word that's not indexed.

If someone searches for "change an inventory", what can I do to have the search return all rows that contain both the words "change" and "inventory" and ignore "an"?

I searched for this scenario both online and in the help file but didn't find anything.

Thank you.
