how can i shring a .bak file and restore that to my database

If you mean "shrink", you can't shrink a backup file. If you want smaller backup files you'll need to get a compression utility like SQL Litespeed or Red Gate's backup utility, or upgrade to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition.

zip / rar it up store the zip and if you need to restore unzip / unrar it first.
