I'm very new to codeing period. I've always been the person to setup home networks, i've done some small buisness networks, and some hardware work.

I've been told time and time over again that i should learn Oracle, friend of mine told me a while ago he might be able to get me a job, and a couple other people have told me how much they make working with Oracle. So here I am.

I was informed to learn SQL to even begin to learn Oracle or anything dealing with Databases.

So I guess my real question would be, does anyone have any suggestions on where i should start, and ideas on some good websites? or books you would recommend? Any suggestions at all would be helpful.

Thank you for your time.

Here's a good start:

The SQL For Dummies book is pretty good for an absolute beginner. If you learn better visually, and with lots of repetition, try the Head First book on SQL.
